![]() ![]() ![]() I love it.Ī short and sweet story but also gives readers a glimpse into the world of Erthia before the Gardenarians came into power. Emotions and desires are played out in the movements of their magic. While Gardenarians seem to be all repression and restraint on the exterior, these elemental magic lines give them away. I love the romance of the affinity lines. This story gives us more of the history of Erthia, through the fasting story of Tessla and Vale, the son of the original Black Witch. ![]() This is the same treatment that we are used to seeing the Gardenarian’s apply to all other races 20 years later. She is raised with Kelt rules in which she can’t pray to her God, can’t show her people’s flag and is generally shunned in the village because she is a Gardenarian. This was so well done as the story starts with Tessla, a poor girl living on the border of Gardenerian and Kelt territories. It focuses on the Gardenarian takeover of Erthia. This is a short story taking place a generation prior to Elloren Gardner and the events of The Black Witch. Published: July 1st 2017 by Harlequin Teen ![]()
